This special scheme was unveiled in
Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province. It is the result of cooperation between Henan Airlines, which is the China Southern subsidiary/branch operating 30 737s from the province, and the local tourism bureau. The scheme is made of auspicious pink peony flowers in their traditionnal "Ruyi" shape, a symbol of
Zhongyuan, literally the Central Plains. The pink curve symbolizes the Yellow River which crosses the region. Special markings are also visible inside the cabin and a special video promoting Henan tourism is played inside the plane.
China Southern Henan Airlines (as it is officially named) is a descendant of long-gone
Zhongyuan Airlines (1986-2000) and the China Southern Henan Branch (1992-2013); it officially started its own operations in Sep. 2014, although operating under the CZ/CSN codes.
